A trial lawyer for more than two decades, Ruth's law practice concentrates on fiduciary litigation, contested guardianships and conservatorships, elder law and estate planning. She also represents medical professionals before licensing boards and consults with professional service groups on risk management issues.
Throughout her career Ruth's work has involved complex litigation in civil and criminal matters; for 17 years she represented physicians in medical malpractice cases and has tried many cases to juries and judges in state and federal courts throughout New Mexico.
With a strong public interest background, Ruth has worked in both the state and federal public defender offices and for New Mexico Legal Aid. She volunteers with the Second Judicial Children's Court judges in programs designed to assist juvenile offenders and is an adjunct professor at the University of New Mexico School of Law, teaching evidence and trial practice.
While in law school, she was awarded the Jerrold W. Walden Memorial Award, Honors in the Clinical Law Program, and was initiated into the Order of the Coif.
Ruth is a fifth generation New Mexican.
